We just had our first Brekkie & Blooms of 2016 (but not our last!) and it was pretty awesome – we just couldn’t wait to share the photos with you! What a fast-learning talented group of ladies we had…but we are getting ahead of ourselves!
Held at our favourite workshop spot, the Hop & Grain Brew Store in Marrickville, we kicked things off with a healthy but delicious breakfast prepared by Penny from The Nourishing Space – chia puddings, granola, green smoothies, greek yogurt, fresh fruit and other good stuff to top it off. Plus everyone in attendance was given Penny’s smoothie recipe so they could create their own again at home.
Once we finished our feast, we moved onto the blooms. A colourful array of fresh flowers purchased bright and early that morning awaited the group. Our aesthetic leans towards a more vibrant yet rustic “gathered fresh from the garden” approach and it was great to see how eager the group was to learn some basic techniques for creating our non-traditional style of arranging.
It’s always fun to see what everyone produces and how very different each person’s arrangement becomes despite everyone working with the same flowers and foliage. We were sure to shoot each an every one of our students with their work in front of our fabulous weaving backdrop decorated with some lots of lovely foliage including our personal favourite, Amaranth!
